My client a leading tech hub in Dubai is currently looking for a bright and motivated Finance Manager. The role will report to the Director of Finance and Operations and will manage the financial operations. This is someone who is passionate, professional, proactive and reflects our ‘Make it Happen’ attitude!

Key Responsibilities

Invoicing

  • Ensure the complete, accurate and timely issue of invoices across the organisation
  • Ensure correct VAT treatment has been used and all invoices accurately recorded in our financial accounting system

Cash management

  • Lead on the cash collection process
  • Monitor and regularly follow up on outstanding debt
  • Ensure timely process of all instalment payments, following up on outstanding balances to ensure payment is received
  • Monitor cash held with third parties, to ensure timely and accurate receipt
  • Monitor closely cash balances

Expenditure

  • Ensure all expenditure is appropriately monitored, approved, in line with budget and paid in line with payment terms
  • Accurately lead the monthly organisation payment process, ensuring wider communication with the team to record all necessary payments
  • Ensure all expenditure is accurately recorded in the financial accounting system
  • Constantly look for and implement cost-reduction opportunities

Finance point of contact

  • Be first point of contact for all finance related queries
  • Supporting new customers and suppliers set-up, ensuring a smooth and timely cash flow cycle
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all external stakeholders
  • Provide ad hoc financial support to all key stakeholders across the organisation and wider team

Payroll

  • Maintain all key payroll records and central payroll database, ensuring records are complete and accurate
  • Communicate with the wider team to ensure reimbursable expenses have been submitted and approved appropriately
  • Prepare the payroll submission, ensure any pay adjustments have been accurately recorded

Month end close process

  • Lead the monthly close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting is presented in a timely manner with focused comments on all key movements and balances
  • Ensure accurate posting of journals and accruals
  • Review and reconcile all key balance sheet account

Weekly and Monthly reporting

  • Deliver high quality and accurate periodic reporting, including cash flow, P&L and revenue reports
  • Deliver high quality ad hoc reports to key stakeholders across the organisation

Finance database ownership

  • Full ownership of financial systems, with responsibility to ensure they are accurate and complete
  • Maintain and improve the processes, to ensure all financial records are accurately captured.

Control Environment

  • Ensure robust financial process and controls, constantly looking to improve the environment
  • Correspond with various internal stakeholders to ensure finance controls and procedures are being followed and accurate financial records are being maintained

Contracts and other financial records

  • Prepare and deliver accurate financial and commercial documents (including but not limited to customer contracts, tenancy letters and commercial agreements)

Job requirements

Experience & Requirements

  • 5+ years’ proven experience as a Financial Manager or in similar role
  • A detailed understanding of financial and accounting principles
  • Proficient user of finance software, knowledge of Nexudus and Xero a plus
  • Meticulous attention to detail a must
  • Impeccable organisational skills a must
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
  • Demonstrate integrity, dependability and, accountability
  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations inc VAT
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar
