For a leading metal packaging supplier to top paint, food and aerosol manufacturers, we are looking for western Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to be based in Dammam.

The position is designed to manage the entire activities of Procurement and Supply chain process which includes the planning of procurement, production planning, inventory control, logistics and distribution, developing and maintaining strategies systematically to meet the company’s manufacturing production business & strategic objectives. Reporting to General Manager you would manage the production planning of all facilities, assuring on time deliveries to Customers with minimum stocks in place. The position has major role in achieving the company objectives and profit/loss of the organization. You will be managing a team of 45 (All Staffs of Warehouse/ Storekeepers, Logistics, Planning, Supply Chain and Purchasing Department includes KSA & UAE). Below more details:

  • Responsible for raw material procurement based on sales budget / forecast, raw material planning that needs to develop quarterly in advance
  • Manages and develops the key service suppliers’ relationships to deliver breakthrough performance in terms of Quality, Cost, Delivery and Service.
  • Responsible for the accomplishment of company norms and policies in materials procurement and Supply Chain functions.
  • Oversees the negotiations with all service suppliers and reviews their contracts terms & conditions and ensures that all contracts are conducted in compliance with the Company policy and specifications.
  • Follows up with warehouse for the overall control and the movement of materials and products within and outside the plant.
  • Coordinates and follows up with administration for imported goods customs clearance.
  • Regularly review & monitor output versus plan/forecast, taking actions as appropriate to ensure targets are met.
  • Plays a key role in setting the plant policy in order to ensure cost-effective flow of materials inside and outside the company, including information and control flow.
  • Drive profitability, create, implement supply chain new strategies to achieve company’s objectives and to promoting continuous improvement in product supply and plant stock policy, minimizing non-moving/obsolesce.
  • Oversees for controlling warehouse activities including general operations, security, inventories control
  • Ensures the efficient and economic utilization of facilities and prompt delivery from raw material to finished products by evaluating volumes and managing possible deviations.
  • Ensures adequate supply levels and timely distribution to meet Customer demand and maximize sales potential.
  • Apply professional personnel management practices to ensure competency & continuity of staff in Supply Chain Department are fully capable of achieving objectives through regular performance reviews, training & motivation.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the General Manager.
  • Procurement of materials from approved suppliers and Supplier Audits for major raw materials.
  • Effective utilization of warehouse for materials storage and follows FIFO methods.
  • Storage of critical raw materials at specified/recommended environment by the supplier.
  • Compliances with the company safety policy & procedures and the personal hygiene practices.
  • Uses the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and apply the GMP/ GHP (Good Manufacturing Practices / Good Hygienic Practices) principles.
  • Monitor all protocols that are established to comply with Food safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Manager for Preventive Maintenance schedule or planning Annual Maintenance or Overhaul of the equipment by OEM where applicable in consideration with sales requirement and schedules the work as appropriate.
  • Maintains appropriate reports for planning & scheduling of production at all facilities.
  • Maintains procurement related reports for major raw materials and its ratings supplier wise.
  • Prepare and present monthly Procurement &Supply Chain department progress report to GM& Management.
  • Maintains Quality Management System (QMS) and necessary records in the department.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate in Engineering / Technical College or Technical diploma with Bachelor or Master Degree in Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 10years’ experience worked as Supply Chain Manager/ Supply chain Executive / Purchasing Manager in can making industry or any other manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge in 3pc Tin can, 2pc Aluminium can and injection moulded plastic pails & closures manufacturing or production process.
  • Knowledge in handling of raw materials used for tin and aluminium cans, identify and manages risks within the supply chain.
  • Knowledge in modern Supply Chain methods to optimize company assets utilization while reducing supply chain costs and enhance customer service
  • Knowledge of managing the entire department activities.
  • Able to take decisions, think independent, with strong organizational & planning abilities, excellent analytical & problem solving skills and strong results oriented mentality.
  • Knowledge of General safety, GMP & GHP practices.
  • Fluent in English for oral and writing communication.
  • Computer literacy skills (MS word, excel & PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in ERP system / business application software’s.
